A
spectacular array of cultural arts are showcased each year on the
Dowagiac campus of Southwestern Michigan College.
The Starlight Series brings to The Grand Old City international performing
arts groups and speakers, showcased within the Dale A. Lyons Theater.
Productions have featured the Grammy Award-winning vocal ensemble,
New York Voices, renowned for its excellence in jazz, to children's
theater and SMC's wonderful gift to the community - its annual Christmas
concert.

Also showcased within the Dale A. Lyons Building is the Art Gallery
at Southwestern Michigan College. Exhibits feature some of the finest
visual artists from across the country and Michigan, as well as the
works of faculty, students and alumni.
The gallery is located in Room 108. It is open Monday through Friday
from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30

Southwestern Michigan College fine and performing arts programs also
host an array of events, showcasing live theater, musicals and vocal
concerts featuring its Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Show/Jazz Choir,
Vocal Jazz Ensemble and Community Chorale. Enthusiasts of instrumental
music will enjoy performances by its 40-piece Symphonic Band, 18-piece
Jazz Ensemble and 30-piece Community Brass Band.
